The Re-entrants

The Re-entrants formed in 2007, when Phil Doleman and Ian Emmerson encountered each other on an internet ukulele forum and found they were near neighbours. They quickly became one of the most in-demand ukulele acts in the UK.

The Re-entrants have performed at The Leicester Square Theatre, London; The Acoustic Festival of Britain; The Assembly Rooms, Derby; The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster; Sheep Music Festival, Bearded Theory Festival; Cox's Yard, Stratford-upon-Avon; The London Ukulele Festival; Manchester Academy; 53 Degrees, Preston; The Wintergardens, Blackpool; etc. etc.

They have also appeared on local, national and international radio and TV.

They have released 2 albums, available from here and on iTunes.

Phil Doleman

Phil Doleman

Stringed instrument player of 20+ years. Phil is a solo singer/songrwiter/guitarist (see www.phildoleman.co.uk and Phil's MySpace page) and was the banjo player with 4-4-2, who got to number 2 in 2004, appearing on top of the Pops and CD:UK. Initially drawn in by the 'cuteness' of the uke, he quickly realised what a versatile instrument it is and how it doesn't have to be ironic or cute when you play your favourite music on your favourite instrument.

Ian Emmerson

Ian used to play other instruments, but sold them all when he discovered the uke. He played in various rock bands until his hair went, and has also released solo original material.  Ian's website is here and his MySpace page is here.

The Re-entrants play ukuleles by Pete Howlett, Rob Collins, Simon Bush, Ken Timms, Risa, Ohana, Ovation and Kiwaya
